Home Energy Team Institute today became the first provider in the U.S. approved by RESNET (Residential Energy Services Network) to offer Home Energy Survey Professional certifications – enabling prospective home energy auditors seeking to start or advance their careers in this high-growth industry to achieve their entry level energy audit certification.
RESNET is a not-for-profit organization that establishes nationally recognized standards for building energy efficiency rating systems for new construction and existing homes. States and local jurisdictions are adopting RESNET standards and/or audits. Just this past November 2008, RESNET issued Chapter Seven of its energy audit standards to create a hierarchy of energy auditors to perform energy efficiency reviews of existing homes.
RESNET Executive Director Steve Baden commented, “Energy is an increasing concern to homeowners. RESNET created the National Home Energy Audit Standard to provide confidence to homeowners that an inspection conducted under the standards is credible and unbiased. RESNET congratulates the Home Energy Team Institute on being the first accredited Home Energy Survey Provider in the nation.”

Home Energy Team Institute (HETI) was founded to meet the growing demand for independent, highly trained home energy specialists, and provides RESNET Certification training for home energy surveyors, home energy auditors and home performance contractors. Candidates of HETI who successfully complete RESNET Certification training are qualified to work as home energy survey specialists. By training home energy auditors, the Home Energy Team Institute enables candidates who achieve this new certification level to consult with homeowners on energy efficiency improvements.
“Amid rising home energy costs and new energy efficient tax rebate incentives, the demand for qualified energy auditors and specialists shines as a rare bright spot in a struggling job market,” said Dallas Jones, President, Home Energy Team Institute. “HETI is committed to offering candidates a valuable springboard to a successful home energy specialist career, and today’s announcement builds upon that mission.”

I must say i would have been a little leary of all the hype occurring around solar. After considering plenty of programs and buy options my husband and I decide to make the leap. We finished up getting solar without having money down and we immediatly started spending less the first month is was installed. I have to admit that the primary advantages of solar are real and I am happy we decided i would proceed with it.
